Hermann Park Conservancy

Hermann Park is one of Houston’s oldest parks and, in 2014, marked its centennial year. At 445 acres, the park is home to the Houston Zoo, Miller Outdoor Theatre, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, Houston Garden Center, Japanese Garden and Hermann Park Golf Course. All of these cultural institutions help make Hermann Park an unparalleled recreational destination.

To support this highly-trafficked destination for Houstonians and visitors to the city, the Kinder Foundation donated $2 million to the Hermann Park Conservancy for a new central rail station. The treasured Hermann Park Railroad, which reopened after renovations in 2009, now operates out of Kinder Station which is situated in the renovated Lake Plaza.
