MD Anderson School of Health Professions

The University of Texas MD Anderson School of Health Professions (SHP) provides an immeasurable education opportunity for future leaders in the scientific, medical and allied health disciplines – vital links in the patient care infrastructure. The Kinder Foundation committed a gift of $1 million toward the School of Health Professions to make possible the acquisition and installation of the self-contained simulated radiotherapy treatment facility in the Kinder Foundation Classroom at the School of Health Professions.

The classroom provides an immersive life-sized virtual environment for the training of students in the School’s three radiologic sciences baccalaureate programs: Radiation Therapy, Medical Dosimetry, and Diagnostic Imaging. It is the first system of its kind in the U.S. The Kinder Foundation’s gift also supports endowed scholarships that provide financial support annually for academically able students enrolled in any of the school’s eight baccalaureate health professions programs. The ongoing availability of endowed funds will make it possible for more students to pursue their education in these fields and assist in addressing the current and future need for trained individuals in the healthcare arena.
